“The Call to Adventure”

In the summer of 2021, we traveled with our three kids to check out the surrounding areas of Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma, California. Eric cycled 30-45 miles in every direction from our rental, and he came back to the house excitedly after one of these excursions. We all piled into the car to check out his discovery: a small piece of land right in the valley, with three acres of Zinfandel and Petite Sirah grapes, with amazing views and a tiny one bedroom house. We swiftly acknowledged the following facts: We knew absolutely nothing about grapes, we wanted to care for this land because it called to us, and we understood and were committed to the long and challenging process it would take to reach our shared vision of a home and sanctuary for our family.
